Bumps and Bruises

The downside to our otherwise enjoyable day was two significant and spectacular stumbles. Laura slipped on the stairs this morning and fell eight steps. She is hobbling about with a sore back. Meanwhile, Grandma Dorothy caught her foot on a curb this evening while walking home from tube and fell face forward into the cobblestone sidewalk. She took a serious hit on the head and wrist, leaving her with cuts and a probably black eye tomorrow, plus a broken watch and bent glasses. It looks like tomorrow will be a housekeeping and homework day as we take it easy and allow these two invalids a little rest.
