Cecily spent most of yesterday in her favorite perch on Dad's shoulders. I am still nursing a neckache from her taking a nap in that position while we walked through the Natural History Museum. How she can slumber and hang on is a complete mystery, but it works, and she awakes refreshed. At one point yesterday I was struggling to read the map in the guidebook as she danced around on my shoulders. Not surprisingly, I found this distracting as the guidebook bounced in front of my eyes, and I admonished her to stop it. Never cowed by Daddy, Cecily shot back: "Daddy, 'Dammit' is a bad word. Don't say, 'Cecily, stop wiggling, Dammit.' " Needless to say, she was right.
